I learned yesterday that seagulls and other gull species have either a red or a yellow drop of oil in each cone cell in their eyes. The oil drop functions like a filter on a camera lens, which means that these birds not only see well into the UV spectrum, but they can differentiate between different colors of yellow and red very readily. Since sand already appears yellowish, this means that if you want to get optimal seagull tornado formation, you need a bag of red-looking chips  when you go visit the beach

so, seagulls can probably see Doritos very well

And the Waltz Goes On - Anthony Hopkins

Sir Anthony Hopkins Hears The Waltz He Wrote 50 Years Ago For The First Time

Academy Award-winning actor Sir Anthony Hopkins was a musician before he got into acting. 50 years ago he wrote a waltz but was too afraid to ever hear it play. Dutch violinist André Rieu performs it for the very first time. Watch Hopkins’ reaction.

That was beautiful

I cried a few tears and felt better about humanity’s endeavors.

The pungency of this waltz’s emotive character—it’s so thick, I can cut it with a knife
